History
Sydnie was born to wealthy parents in Scotland. Raised with private tutors and the best learning materials she qualified to enter a special Astronomy academy under Sir Reginald Bickerstaff of London. While completing his training she Awakened, and later joined the Void Engineers.
Sydnie went on many assignments. Being Awakened and at the top of her field of study, she discovered she also had a healthy sex drive. Progenitor drugs ensured she would not get pregnant in space, and she found that frequent flings in space took the edge off her anxiety. Many of her male Engineers had joined her in the the racks, but it wasn't until she met Kenna Hodgeson that she was attracted to a woman.
Kenna was fiery and driven, exactly Sydnies type. The two worked together for more than a year before they wound up in bed together. After that it was difficult for them to keep their secret. While the men saw nothing wrong with the women sleeping with men, it was far too early in British society for saphic love to be accepted.
Captain David Neuman found them together and couldn't let it go while they were beyond the Horizon in deep space. Commander O'Han and he argued about the situation, and he finally told her he was putting her on report to Control. Commander O'Han knocked him out with a wrench in a moment of desperation, and put him out through an airlock. To her surprise a being appeared outside the ship and swallowed him whole. The being told her her sacrifice had not gone unnoticed, and she would be compensated. Shocked and shook up, Commander O'Han doctored the logs, wiped the video feeds, and made it look like he spaced himself.
Now she is struggling to ignore the whispers she hears in her head...
