Personality
Sobriquet: Khaemwaset. Born Rein Louri, but he won't answer to it.
Appearance: Khaemwaset's skin is a slightly burnished bronze color. His father was Russian descent, but his mothers Middle Eastern genes won out, giving him a fine boned Arabic appearance. Dark hair and a short cropped black beard and mustache. His eyes are green. Khaemwaset dresses as an Arabic man, and at the House of Peace wears only robes and Arabic head gear. Out in the city, he wears power suits and nice ties.
Behavior: Khaemwaset likes to give the air of a peaceful, spiritual leader. His public messages are power to the people, change through peace and harmony. Khaemwaset revels in pain and degradation whenever possible. While he talks harmony, he looks down his nose at mortals.
History: Rein Louri was born in the slums of Santa Monica. His dad and mom were good people, though his dad had mafia ties to the Romanians. His mom was Palestinian. They tried to raise him to be honest, but he slipped into the Romanian gangs and left home, enjoying the excitement and danger of being a criminal. Rein was arrested and did some time in a California prison. There he got connected to some Settite ghouls.
When he got out, they took him to San Francisco and introduced him to Lambert Nika. Lambert liked the young man, and made sure he got extra exposure in the temple. In a short time Rein was indoctrinated and took the name Khaemwaset. It was at this time that he began to model Middle Eastern dress.
Khaemwaset rose to be Lamberts right hand man. They flourished and brought in many converts. Khaemwaset studied all the Settite information he could find. He was introduced to Kindred of the city, and garnered the reputation as a vampire who could get things if needed, for a price.
With the advent of computers, Khaemwaset saw potential. Khaemwaset asked permission of Lambert Nika, to begin looking for a "hacker" to help the House to expand. At first Lambert was hesitant, but he told Khaemwaset that permission had been given from the Elders of the clan. Khaemwaset found Jamal Smith, and began using the internet to his advantage.
When the Great Leap Outwards came to the city Lambert Nika fell afoul of the Kuei-jin. He was killed. No.1 Bureaucrat gave Khaemwaset permission to stay in the city as long as he followed the rules of the Kuei-jin. Khaemwaset has towed the line mostly, though he is seeing avenues to operate how he wants without the Kuei-jin noticing.
Recent Events: Khaemwaset has been getting instructions to find out about the new drug in the city. While he is asking questions himself, he has set Jamal to find out all he can and report it. Khaemwaset also is pushing to get more connections in the shipping area of the city. He was told to look for packages coming in. The instructions are vague, and he is frustrated about it.
