Sobriquet: Raven for his given name whose old Germanic meaning is bright raven.
Appearance: Raven isn't a big man being a little short of average with a light athletic build. His dual Irish and Turkish ancestry gives him aquiline features, a swarthy complexion and red hair the color of burnished copper. He dresses with a New World barbarity befitting his New York upbringing and despite his adoption of the more staid British fashions he stands out with an almost super-human looks (a gift of his latent fay blood).
Behavior: Ones' first impression of Bertram is of an aloof reservation from those around him, but once one gets beneath his skin as it were, it becomes apparant that Bertram is intensely passionate. Another gift of his fay-blood, Bertram feels he must control these elemental passions or be ruled by them. While still young, Raven began to equate his cleanliness, neatness and general appearance as a physical manifestation of his emotions. As long as he is neatly dress, clean and tidy, his emotions are kept fully in check, should any or all of these things fall out of place his emotional state can enter one of several extremes. For these reasons, he keeps most people at a distance for fear of hurting them or more accurately of becoming emotionally hurt himself.
History: Bertram belongs to the Fenian family of Celtic witches through his father's blood. Bound at birth by powerful geasa, he cannot "speak" of his family's heritage or his own fate bound place in their history. As a hedge wizard, Raven was trained in Fenian paths that allow shapeshifting, seeing and interacting with the unseen world, influencing the emotions of others, and elemental combat magics. Bertram can at times of great stress call upon his fay blood to enhance his magic, making him both an unpredictable and powerful opponent. As a warlock of the Fenian family he can call upon ancient pacts with the European fay, the Fianna werewolves and the ghost of his father. [1]
