The Nahemites believe that only through pain can others learn. To this favor they learn this ritual to teach others of the power of the Dark Mother Nahema. This ritual cast on a room will leave all those who are in the area of effect to experience great pain, as if thorns were piercing their skin, blistering their flesh, and burning from the inside.
While the pain isn't caused by damage, it is quite distracting.
Description: The caster lays a ward on a room, object or area, anyone touching or entering the area or touching the object after that until the sun rises will be afflicted with burning bites, and supernatural protections will be of no help. There is no physical damage, but the pain is excruciating. Those afflicted will desire to scratch and dig looking for the source of the pain, and in order to act normally, the afflicted must spend a temporary Willpower. The pain only stops when they accept a Thorn of the Mother into themselves.
Successive violation of the wards can become stacking, with the pain becoming worse the more of the wards the offenders cross. Nahema went mad in her pain, and her followers believe those who are called by Nahema will seek out her Thorns.
System: The caster rolls Intelligence + Occult at standard difficulty while spending a willpower to cast the ritual. The number of successes is the number of people who can be afflicted. A botch sends the caster into a blast of pain so powerful that he or she becomes catatonic until the sun rises.
