History
The Gatekeepers are a disparate gathering of previous unaffiliated strangers drawn inexorably together as they explore several mysteries surrounding Boston's occylt past.
The group initially formed in the Spring of 1928 after being hired to debunk a supposedly haunted house for a Boston property owner and instead discovered the frightening reality of the supernatural in the form of an undead sorcerer.
Although the small group survived, barely, they were then drawn into each succeeding mystery one by one.
What followed was the mysterious death of young woman and the discovery of a centuries of witch cult who seemed to have spawned several scions of the Boston elite.
A deeper look led to the mysterious death of an academic decades before, but in the very same graveyard where the young woman had died, and an abandoned house restored at great cost just previous to the scholar's gruesome end.
The exploration of the abandoned house led to a secret chamber in the basement build expressly for one of the long dead witches and her body. The dried up corpse served as a reservoir for the witches soul which entered the body of one of the ladies of the group and possessing her.
What transpired next would shape the group of intrepid explorers when the ancient witch possessed the body of a new member and opened a portal to a wonderous city.
One clue led to others like a trail of bread crumbs leading into darkness and an encounter with a pack of subterranean flesh eating ghouls. While the group survived and even expanded, they now bore scars and a number of different agendas.
