Appearance
Lydia is a petite, beautiful black woman. Her skin is a light mocha, her hair ebony black, and eyes a lustrous golden brown. While petite, her curves are generous and enticing.
Behavior
Lydia is a vivacious and sultry woman. She likes to laugh and sing. Lydia doesn't share much with others, and keeps most of her thoughts to herself. Lydia will almost never tell the truth about what she is thinking. By her true inclinations Lydia is a lesbian, though she is more than willing to have sex with anyone who can benefit her. Lydia misses Olivia, and is confused about why she feels love toward Simon.
History
Lydia was born in the early 70's. Her parents were a mixed couple, having a black father and a pale skinned Cuban mother. She grew up in the barrio of Los Angeles, struggling to know what world to be part of. Her father was in and out of jail, mom was a part time whore. In 1980 her mother died from a drug overdose leaving Lydia to fend for herself, as dad was back in prison. When Lydia turned thirteen she earned her first money selling her body. Her moms john paid her $500 for sex. While she didn't enjoy it, she did like the money.
In a short amount of time she was doing the club circuit, looking for johns, singing and dancing. Lydia met a woman named Olivia Lahana who worked with her and taught her to sing better, giving her voice lessons. Despite their ten year age difference, the two women became fast friends, then lovers. Olivia was killed in 1992 during the Rodney King riots. Devastated Lydia fled to San Francisco.
Lydia had been in San Francisco a week when she walked in the House of Cool looking for work. There she met Simon Bass and for the first time in her life felt real attraction to a man. She didn't know he was a vampire, or that he began feeding her blood on a regular basis. Simon took care of her and put her to work. When Lydia fully understood what it meant to be a vampire she immediately wanted to be one.
After a year Simon got permission to embrace Lydia from the prince, and he brought her over as a vampire. Her existence as a Toreador has seemed to be better than ever before. Lydia fits in well with the other Toreador of the city, and has become a part of the scene of San Francisco, though she misses Olivia. Lydia loves, though part of her resents the fact that he used his powers to trick her into becoming his lover. In time she will understand fully the power of the blood bond.
When the Kuei-jin took over the city Lydia was living in the Fill close to Simon. Simon told her to move to a reservation area. He was okay with living as an outlaw, but didn't want to risk her. She obeyed, and has been a good member of the Mandarinate. Lydia has been working at getting close to the Kuei-jin, and getting what information she can get to Simon. She uses a burner phone to talk to him, and the two occasionally meet around the city, so Simon can feed her some of his blood.
