London Notes 2042
- December 15th, 2042 -- London (Ocean Estates Chantry) -- Octavio Cassano's Diary mentions the Magus Ars Lexus -- a further search reveals a further reference to the Lexus in a London chantry.
- December 15th, 2042 -- London -- Panagoita Melina (Giovanni) died after trying to use the Apollo mask and worked for Randolf St. John
- December 16th, 2042 -- London -- Natasha confirms that the Professor has been captured/bound by someone who is impersonating him.
- December 17th, 2042 -- London -- Dr. Alastair Barneby steals the Mask of Apollo, carries out a human sacrifice, there is a struggle Natasha is severely injured, I knocked out Barneby and recover the mask. Aided by Smyth. That same evening I begin my interview with the Mask of Apollo in the hopes of learning more about it. Regent Fatma Uzun offers to contact Vienna for further instruction. She has chosen to put Barneby into torpor and interview him through the path of Oneiromancy.
- The Interview: The masks were entombed with three keepers to ensure the darkness of the world. Two of the keepers were childer of Mekhet, and the third was of the Children of 1000 dreams. Theiea Ariadne of the Osci, Issa Mac Alba of Delphi, Siors Aldegar of Herculaneum. Once released from their tomb the masks began to experience the light and motivate changes in the world of men. The other masks can be found in areas of compressed change. This mask isn't impressed with the offerings I have offered it. It claims that it will continue to regenerate and when that regeneration is complete, it will effect significant changes upon London. After the sacrifice of the animal blood, the mask began to regenerate and when it was invoked to speak, it took on a fleshy, human form to speak with me. Afterwards, inscriptions appeared upon its surface -- the name of Apollo spelled out in individual letters of the Greek Alphabet. The mask has requested more significant offerings in return for speaking with me again, in this case that I burn a building down with it and three lives inside as sacrifices. The mask suggested that one of those lives could and would go to healing Natasha of her grievous wounds. The conversation with the regent Fatma Uzun shortly thereafter leads me to believe she has some serious reservations about this experiment with the Mask of Apollo, reservations that I share. But, I reminded her as I remind myself, that the price of knowledge is experimentation and no endeavor reaches fruition without sacrifice. The question remains how far will I go for the knowledge that this mask can impart?
