History: Pankranz Voss arrived in San Francisco as a young man in 1934. A former citizen of Nazi Germany, Voss became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1939. It was during this period that he became the close associate of Fritz Wiedemann the new Consul General of Germany to the United States. Because of their association Mr.Voss came to be a person of interest to the San Francisco branch of the F.B.I. Although Pankraz was never charged with any crimes he remained under federal surveillance into the 1970s. Official interest in the reclusive antique dealer from 18th Ave and Noe Street lingered on through the 1980s and then became a cold case collecting dust at the bueau's archives.
