Dragan Dobrev
Appearance: Dragan is a very fit man in his early 60s. He is 1.88m tall (roughly 6ft - 2inches), and big boned. Because he is very fit for his age, he carries his 108kg (240lbs)with relative ease, but despite this, he has begun to diet as he is beginning to feel the effects of his weight in his major joints. His hair has turned silver and he has a prominent widows peak. He has a very angular face with a prominent nose which has been broken more than once. His eyes are a cold hard gray, like slate; his stare can and has ended unpleasant conversations, sped up red tape or made mature socialites flush. His customary uniform is a slate gray suit with polished black shoes, a military diver's watch and a set of dog-tags. He wears a Arcus 98 handgun, the heavy pistol is formidable in a firefight and was roundly adopted by the Bulgarian military and police units of the early 2000s. He also carries a Bulgarian Makarov as a backup and two extra clips for each gun. He also carries a utilitarian knife and all applicable paperwork needed for an armed bodyguard.
Behavior: He has spent nearly thirty years in service to Jeremy and during that time he has seen things no one else would believe. So much so, that he has begun to take them for granted and is usually annoyed when other people react with shock or surprise. His loyalty to his employer is genuine, as is a well concealed affection for Jeremy. Professionally, he can be terse and extremely direct. When he does speak, he usually has something significant to add to a conversation. But he prefers to quietly listen and watch, the better to observe uncharacteristic behavior. At this point, Dragan has realized that his employer is a vampire, he has seen too much to believe otherwise, but obviously Jeremy isn't the hideous, blood-sucking, monster that sleeps in tombs and old graves.
History: Dragan was born in Sofia, during the autumn of 1968. His father was a Bulgarian politbureau member and his mother the household nanny of his father's official bureau approved family. This circumstance created a difficult situation for Dragan's mother and father, but provided him with everything he would need to succeed in Bulgarian communist society. Together, Dragan's parents came up with a plausible story, the nanny was returning home from working late at the official's house and was attacked and raped by hooligans. Officially, the politbureau member arranged for the punishment of the hooligans and generously offered, with his wife's approval, for the nanny to live in their home full-time and raise her child alongside the children of the officer. Thus, the bureau member looked like a good communist, not only to his wife, but to his fellow politbureau members and the nanny's baby, Dragan would would receive the same privileges as the politician's official children.
Dragan has been with Yan Sirkov or Jeremy Sanderson since his arrival in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2003.
Recent Events: In an employment relationship that has last over three decades, unexpected changes in the routine are not necessarily a good thing, that however, is exactly what happened during the spring of 2031. At that time, Mr. Sanderson introduced Dragan to a whole new level of the occult world, a mystical process used by a select few to reverse the effects of physical aging. Dragan's employer was offering him a once in a lifetime opportunity to regain his youth; this turned out to be more than even Dragan could have imagined and childhood fears of demonic deals reared themselves in Dragan's mind. While Dragan deeply wishes for another chance at youth, he finds himself wondering just how deep the rabbit hole goes and whether he might be selling his soul. Despite his deep seated fears, at the core, Dragan is a hardened pragmatist and thus willing to do whatever is necessary to keep the bleeding edge, even the "Kiss of Lachesis".
Jeremy has also suggested that he may have another way to prevent further aging via a blood based serum. In a frighteningly candid disclosure, Jeremy revealed that the serum is vampire blood, Jeremy's blood. Dragan isn't a fool or novice in things vampiric; over the years, he has learned a thing of two and long ago learned from other servants of the damned about the blood-bond and what it means to be a ghoul. While virtual immortality sounds good, it also sounds a little too good to be true, to Dragan. The catch of course is the blood-bond itself, the virtual slavery of the recipient to his vampiric donor. But according to Jeremy, through long and arduous research and vast testing, he had found a way to keep the anti-aging properties of vitae without the nasty addictive side effects. Dragan is no one's fool however, while he knows that his employer is a brilliant man - vampire, he also knows that animal testing isn't the same as human trials. At this point however, agelessness is starting to look a lot more attractive to Dragan, especially since his joints have started to hurt in the mornings. Regardless of whether Jeremy has solved the problem of the blood-bond or not, Dragan would follow his employer into hell itself, so now its simply a matter of time, for in Dragan's experience, time reveals all.
