Notes: He has the Merit Sanctity (see Player Guide to the Sabbat). St Just is horrified to see the Followers of Set admitted in Paris, and he tries to undermine the relation between the serpents and the Toreadors.
His Road of Enlightenment is the "Path of Virtue", similar to the "Road of Heaven" written in the Vampire: The Dark Ages. The differences are that this Road is more laical, secular and non-clerical in philosophy.
The corrupted aren't the Vampire and the Virtuous the Priests. The corrupted are those who aren't innocent, and the virtuous are those who strive for a better, more virtuous world, through republican virtues.
Note that the world Republican is given as a philosophy (the power to the people) and not as a US political division (Republicans/Democrats). In France, politics are a little more complicated.
St Just has no respect for the Church (or any religion). The principles of his Road are more inspired by the Droits de l'Homme (Rights of Human Being) than the Holy Bible.
Lately, he was somewhat attracted by the cold Delphine, but then he didn't like the idea of a Brujah with so good relations with a Tremere (Laureen)...
He is the Sire of the Brujah named "Le Serrurier". He was named during the 1789 Revolution "Le Fossoyeur" (The Undertaker), and sometimes uses this surname when dealing with unknown people.
Actual Aim: To take control of the Brujah and the Anarchs, to create the first real Democratic system among the Kindred (St Just despises the California Anarch Free States, what he consider to be a pitiful attempt to reach a real democratic power when just the most powerful has the power to decide: The Barons are, for him, little more than pitiful despots.)
To reach his aim, he works hard to appear to each Brujah side as one of them, and with his history and actions, he actually succeeds! To the Idealist, he is St Just, the author of the Theory of the Revolution. To the Iconoclast, he showed in the Revolution that he could act when needed. The Idealist likes him because he represents the ideals of the Clan.
He is, so, the probable next-in-line to take the power as Brujah's Duc
Rumours:
- St Just is the lover of Delphine (False).
- St Just was influenced by Robespierre, and is now a full Camarilla elder, with few, or no Anarch ideals (False! St Just was the one behind the Terror, and would like nothing more than purging all the corrupted from Paris!)
- St Just dislike the Setite (False: He hates them!)
- St Just is a Ventrue Masquerading as a Brujah (False).
- St Just is trying to take the control of the Brujah (Partially True: Trying to take thec control of the Brujah AND the Anarchs!).
- St Just is the Sire of Benedicte (False and True: In facts St Just was the Sire of Karl, who Sired Benedicte in 1875. Only St Just and Benedicte know this. Few Kindred believe the rumor: After all St Just is 9th, and Benedicte is 11th...)
