Lady Blagorodina
Belogradchik / Southern Court / Ordo Dracul / Bulgaria
Domain: The small town of Belogradchik in Vidin Province was granted to her as bride-price by the Baron Milan Svarovizev as her prospective groom in anticipation of their future union (circa: 2008).
Background:
Image: Lady Blagorodina is the eternal maid of the mother goddess trinity. She possesses a young and nubile body of no more than twenty years, with a firm bosom, trim waist and strong athletic limbs. Her blood red tresses hang down her milky back and cascade over her pale shoulders; while her bright blue eyes can enchant any vampire with the memory of the morning sky or freeze the soul as if trapped in arctic ice. As a traditional wise woman, Lady Blagorodina is never seen in anything other than the popular ladies fashions of the nineteenth century; but, she only celebrates the nightly or seasonal rites in the nude, usually at locations known for their deep ties to ancient paganism. She is never encountered without a surplus of traditional jewelry made from wooden beads, bones, feathers, polished stones, and sand cast elemental metals.
Personality: Upon first meeting Lady Blagorodina, one is struck by the air of power that seems to surround her, for the air about her seems to shimmer and her eyes to glow. Her body language and expression of noble disdain, leave one with the impression she can see all your misdeeds and the sight offends her delicate sensibilities. Most who meet Lady Blagorodina find her cold and calculating, a noble born witch with her own best interests at heart; all would be surprised to learn that she creates this image through the rituals of Koldunic sorcery.
In reality, she is a shy and passionate young woman who has struggled over the last seven decades to maintain her humanity and her sense of joy in the face of Eastern Europe's monumental darkness. She fortifies her slowly dying humanity by performing the traditional services of a village wise woman; originally, she served in this capacity for her home village, but over the decades her reputation has spread and calls for her aid now reach across Southern Bulgaria.
Blagorodina is a young woman trapped in an ageless body, she longs for romance and passionate love, but because she is also a vampire she find herself feeding to satisfy those combined needs; with her sorcery she selects mortal men who are likely to be out along in the wilderness and there she appears to them as a spirit of the land. Originally, these trysts were rare, but as the presures of authority and unlife press upon her, she finds that she needs more passion and blood to balance the darkness of her existence. The men she feeds upon and makes love to remember her as a spirit of the forest as she blurs their memories with Koldunic Sorcery. She rarely visits any given man more than three times, for she fears that she will draw her enemies to them and doesn't want them to suffer for her weakness.
With the death of her sire Baron Zdravko, she was freed from the bonds of blood with which he bound her at the Embrace. She knows that Zdravko wasn't the worst sire she could have had and she is saddened by his death; she is aware that he loved her in his own selfish way, but that he created her for her beauty to be his trophy wife.
Blagorodina knows that the knights of the Order are her protection in a harsh land and that the only way she can continue to influence their decisions is to marry one of them. Her twin hopes rest in Baron Milan Svarovicev, that she will finally have a domain of her own and that she can continue to influence the male dominated Order as a woman. She finds the Baron a boor and wonders if even a political marriage to him will be worth the irritation of his presence. To those who become her friends, she prefers to be called Rodina; she has few true friends and most of those are mortal wise women.
