Quote: What if we had ideas that could think for themselves? What if, one day, our dreams no longer needed us? When these things occur and are held to be true, the time will be upon us, the time of angels.
Admonition: The eyes are not the windows to the soul, they are the doors. Beware what enters there.
The Mythology: That which hold the image of an angel, becomes itself an angel.
Nomenclature: Angelus Lacrimarum, in Latin, means the "Angel of Tears".
Appearance: Physically, the weeping angel appears as a statue of a biblical Christian angel. It appears to be formed of pale marble, without blemish or flaw. The angel has the look of a classic sculpture by a master craftsman. The angel is always clean shaven and its 'hair' always looks to be styled with ringlets which never touch its beautifully sculpted shoulders. It is universally barefoot and is clothed in a simple shift. It is usually armed with a dagger or sword which is girded at its waist. Like most statues, its eyes are simple representations, but the rest of its features are surprisingly lifelike. The sculpted clothing and accoutrements are also strikingly realistic in their representation, looking both functional and artistic. Perhaps the most striking facet of the angel's appearance is its facial features which are not only realistic, but convey its powerful emotions as they change in often dramatic and horrifying ways.
Background: The holy books of the Hebrews recorded instances of angelic beings with individual characteristics and of varying power, but none of those beings as described, were remotely humanoid in form. The idea of a human shaped angel seems to have been a Christian invention, because descriptions of humanoid angels don't begin to appear in Europe until after the third century of the common era...
Personality: The angel's personality is mostly conveyed by its body language and facial expressions, which lend it a subtle, but menacing aura.
Current Events: The angel was last seen in Rome in the year 211 C.E., it hasn't yet been detected in the year 1000 C.E. But, its unknown where it is when the Kamut reappears in the medieval city of Alba Iulia. How long it will take to reach the coterie and where it will surface is a complete unknown. The one certainty is that, if it still exists, it will be making its way towards the coterie with unerring speed.
- Disclaimer: A word of warning to the gentle reader, looking too closely into the secrets of this creature could draw its unholy interest. Somethings shouldn't be known and are forbidden for a good reason; if you choose to look, then you cannot say you were not warned!
