The Necromantic Library of Phineus -x- Level One Rituals -x- Level Two Rituals -x- Level Three Rituals -x- Level Four Rituals -x- Level Five Rituals

Description: In ancient times, it was the custom to entomb a living sacrifice into the foundation of any building, especially a temple to insure the stability of the building in question. The modern necromancer uses the foundation sacrifice to ensure the efficacy of his rites by immuring a human sacrifice into the walls or floor of his sacred space. This ritual must be carried out on one of the three nights of the new moon to honor the powers of darkness and death.
Origin: This kind of ritual is ancient and there are many variants.
Ingredients: a condemned criminal / a lead plaque/ funerary incense
Casting: The necromancer may begin the rite when full darkness has fallen over the land. He descends to his crypt, there he faces the four cardinal directions and calls upon the chthonian gods to witness his sacrifice and bless him with their approval. He binds a condemned criminal into a vertical or horizontal recess with a lead plaque disclosing his many crimes; then he walls the living victim up with whatever materials are available and imbues his new sanctum with funerary incense to complete the rite and demarcate its sacred space.
System: Each casting of this ritual enchants an area up to ten square yards for one month. Multiple castings of ‘Immured Sanctum’ over the same area only reset the duration to one full month. Within the enchanted area, the difficulty of all Necromancy path powers and rituals decreases by one. Conversely, this ritual adds one to the difficulty of all magic not based on the caster’s style. This includes the true magic of wizards, as well as the paths and rituals of other blood sorcerers. This ritual takes one night to perform.
