Suregethes

Circa: 2023 C.E.
Plots: He secretly supports the Clan Tremere as a foil against the power of the Bulgarian Tzimisce; if the gods bless his enterprise, they shall destroy each other utterly. Unknowingly, Suregethes will act as one catalyst among many forces in the slow, but inexorable tide towards the Second Omen War.
Secrets: He secretly fears the return of his sire because he believes Dominic would drag him back into the fires of the Jyhad. So great is Suregethes’ fear of his sire’s manipulations, that to insure his freedom, he will bring the Sabbat to southern Bulgaria as a means to free himself from his ancient Blood Bond. In the process of doing so, he will risk falling prey to the Sabbat, not as a victim of diablerie, but by becoming one of them through the vinculum.

Destiny: Ultimately, Surgethes must decide which is more important to him; freedom from servitude of the blood bond or freedom from the beast. If he chooses freedom from the blood bond, he will unwittingly serve his sire’s goals by becoming the spearhead of the Sabbat in Bulgaria. If he chooses freedom from the beast, then he will have to become a member of the Inconnu and watch as the Jyhad rages unimpeded across his beloved Bulgaria.
Notes: Suregethes doesn’t actually possess dual nature; rather his two natures reflect the nearly indescribable complexity of a being that has lived over two thousand years without entering torpor. If he achieves Golconda, his nature will crystallize as Judge and if he chooses to join the Sabbat it will solidify as Defender.
