Aunt Pelagia: The Wraith of Ekaterine's aunt, and the Comb is important.

Photios the Bodyguard: A bodyguard, apprentice and now source of necromantic components. He was killed by Aristeides for presumed impropriety with Ekaterine.

Nicomedes the Bodyguard: A bodyguard who took several arrows for Ekaterine and Zoe.

Magistrate Theodulus: A magistrate of the Port of Pyrgos and a secret Christian cultist. He was sent to investigate the use of sorcery in the marketplace or so we believe. I suspect that he may have been an agent of another temporal agent, but I cannot as yet prove that.

Hristo the Merchant: Greek Christian and hunter.

Zornitsa: Bulgar sorceress.

Sappho: A Greek woman of Phanagoria, who speaks Bulgar and acts as a maid.
