- Sofia-Grad -x- Assamite
Though the above image is merely an artist's rendering of what Sukhbataar might look like, there are of course flaws. Who knows, it is easy to imagine the ancient Assamite chuckling with amusement at seeing this rendering, just before slitting the throat of the artist and his or her patron.
Sobriquet: The Black Dwarf - though never in his presence, or in the company of those likely to repeat the insult.
Appearance: Sukhbataar skin is as black as any Nubian, this combined with his Asian features makes him unique in appearance and rather hard to forget. He stands only 4 feet tall and probably weighs 150 pounds; he is a short brick wall. His hair is iron gray and has never been cut as he wears a braid down the middle of his back that reaches the backs of his knees. His face is flat and broad, with a broad flat nose that has obviously been broken many times. His eyes are black, almond shaped and heavily slanted. He has thick iron colored eyebrows and a bushy gray beard that is likewise woven into a variety of small braids. He is almost abnormally muscled and wears loose comfortable clothing, that is easily shed and inexpensive. He is never seen without his ancient battle axe which is always thoroughly poisoned and a small assortment of throwing axes similarly poisoned. Though he prefers loose, comfortable clothing, the Medieval years taught him the value of western armor, which he wears sparingly.
Background: The Black Dwarf was awakened from torpor by Telat Al-Ali of Cairo in the Spring of 2005. That summer, he diablerized Miklos Grubo, the then Ventrue Primogen to rejuvenate himself after his time in torpor. He was pleasantly surprised to discover that Miklos was of lower generation and thus his diablerie advanced Sukhbataar's generation as well as restored him to his full potential.
Personality: The Black Dwarf is as stoic as a stone, brief to a fault and dark of humor. He was bred for war and he has only grown more warlike as the centuries have passed. He used to respect the Bulgar people, but their descendants are soft and weak. His own people were absorbed into neighboring nations centuries ago, the only 'people' he has left are the Banu Haqim, thus they are even more important to him in the modern nights.
Current Events: Sukhbataar has been unseen and unheard from save for his secret meetings with the other Assamites of Sofia.
- Sukhbataar's Statistics -- For the Storyteller's Eyes Only!
Player Notes: Sukhbataar has demonstrated advanced (level 6) Celerity. Thus, the previous estimate of his, (and Miklos Grubo's) maximum generation is wrong. (This would make Miklos himself a diablerist).
A hair found in Kamiko Tanaka's haven has revealed more about him. Like a Nagaraja, he needs more than pure blood to replenish himself and feed the Curse of Caine, or perhaps to feed an out-of-control vicissitude infection. Either way, he somehow drains (temporary?) willpower along with blood from his victims. Even worse, if he completely drains a victim of willpower (while, of course, leaving them alive), the victim contracts vicissitude as well. Tracing these victims might be a way to learn more about Sukhbataar and his regular feeding habits. As an academic pursuit, I would like to learn more about what happens when he feeds on animals or victims who already possess vicissitude. The most disturbing aspect of this phenomenon is that the victims must also drain others of willpower, and spread it in the same way. We may be looking at a vicissitude version of the standard vampire invader scenario.
At any rate, Sukhbataar is indeed a diablerist. He has done so twice. The first was in the year 1443 CE, and was when he first contracted the infection. The second was in 2005, and the victim was Miklos Grubo. It was then that his infection began draining willpower from his victims.
Known Powers (as of 2015): Celerity 6 (no known alternate powers), Obfuscate of 3+ (probably much higher), Vicissitude 4 (Horrid/Zulo form), Quietus 4+ (probably 5: It is unlikely that an elder like Sukhbataar could develop two advanced disciplines in only 10 years), discipline technique: (probably quietus/fortitude) - Sukhbataar can replenish himself from torpor through the act of diablerie.
Further Notes: Embraced at the age of 52. His clan, natural coloration and diableries have combined to give him the almost jet black coloring of a pure-blooded Nubian, and is only getting darker.
