The Mansion
This large rambling mansion sits on a 3 acre lot with a gardens and a swimming pool. The walls are 15 feet high topped with spike topped ankhs. The walls are bright red and yellow designed brick and concrete with stucco overlay. The front gate is manned by at least one disciple at all times. Back gates are electronic locked, only open-able from the inside.
Mihai Carolus
From his Grand Temple in Seattle the shadow of Mihai Carolus still dominates the internecine politics of San Francisco's Setite temple -- The Mansion of Peace. Even at a distance Mihai touches the unlives of his subordinate Serpents, he does this through covert communications deployed to each individual Setite and to his collective of ghoul and mortal spies within the Mansion who keep him informed nightly, sometimes even hourly of events transpiring within the San Francisco temple. -- Ras Michael
Ras Michael
For seven years Ras Michael has been the titular Templar of the San Francisco branch of the Followers of Set and as yet no member of the temple has actually seen him. Nonetheless like Mihai Carolus, the specter of Ras Michael lurks around every corner and each member of the Inner and Outer courts is aware that their survival depends on his largesse, so they cooperate with his every encrypted directive trying to win points from the temple-head. Ras Michael's apparent absence encourages plotting and counter plotting by the collective temple members and this state of constant paranoia and heightened suspicion serves to keep the Serpents of San Francisco in line. -- Khaemwaset
Skullduggery
Due to his rumored mastery of Obfuscate there is no way for the residents to be sure that Ras Michael isn't present somewhere within the temple or that he might be masquerading as another member of the Mansion. It is well known that the Elder Serpents keep large herds of spies and that every ghoul or mortal could serve one or the other of the Elder Snakes. Thus it has become common practice to ghoul one's closest lackeys and to engage in regular disposal of any questionable servant and the pruning of any rival's retainers has become a subtle game played almost nightly, so much so that the turnover in the staff often leads to shortages in help. -- Lady X
The Inner Court
The Inner Court is reserved for true Followers of Set and consists of Ras Michael the temple-head, Deacon Khaemwaset second in authority to the Templar, Deangelo Ketcher serpent transplant from St.Louis and the Ancilla computer hacker Jamal Smith. These four Setites are bound together in their service to Set and by the clan's air of aloof alien mystique. They present a calm and united front but the apparent absence of Ras Michael creates a unstable political triumvirate. While Khaemwaset holds nominal authority in the Templar's stead, Lady X (Deangelo Ketcher) schemes from his shadow for her own glorification and Jamal Smith still a adherent to the Road of Humanity often acts with subversive altruism rather than following the clan in the pursuit of generalized corruption.
The presence of the Outer Court should serve to insulate the Inner Court from exterior threats, but the power dynamics within the Mansion have been shifting for some little time and the Inner Court's infighting have lent a legitimacy to the Outer Court that is sapping the Setites of their influence and created two courts subtly in opposition. The situation is now made worse by the introduction of a new and deadly drug being peddled on the mean streets of San Francisco by a outside criminal organization with unknown aims or strength. Pressure from older more powerful Setites pushes the Mansion of Peace to exert a dangerous level of influence in acquiring this new drug and eliminating this indiscriminate cartel before the Mansion is revealed to the city's Kuei-jin conquerors -- Ishmael Ben Sutehk

The Outer Court
The Outer Court of the Mansion of Peace is made up of refugees and converts to the service of Set. The unquestioned leader of the Outer Court is the witch Endora who seeks to resurrect Set with her dark magic. She is supported by her spiritual guide Varkaris Dyo an ancient ghost who speaks through her and subtly acts as her guardian spy. Endora also counts the Caitiff convert Ishmael Ben Sutehk as part of her entourage, but his loyalties may be more nebulous than she suspects, and Ishmael's conversion makes him a difficult fanatic to control.
Two recent additions to the Outer Court have added to the political and perhaps military transition of power between the two courts within the Mansion. One is Nymphodessa a hedonistic Fey creature that identifies as a female Satyr and whose peccadilloes have led her to seduce many of the mortal Followers of Set and a few members of the Inner and Outer Courts. The second newcomer is a corrupted werewolf who calls himself Drinks the Wurm, but who is more commonly known as SIXX, as in Six Fingers, which he possesses on each hand. SIXX has recently taken up the role of acting security head and he even has the blood-stained uniform to prove it. SIXX and Ishmael Ben Sutehk often spar together and work together to keep the Mansion safe from outside forces, but the lack the political savvy or subtly necessary to protect it from within. -- Nymphodessa

What the Settites want in San Francisco
Ras Michael is following up on the mission of the elder Zhenya Motya to find the final resting place of Set. While this is the mission of many of their clanmates, Zhenya was in the unique position to receive a vision from Set. In it she could see the city of Milan. While not able to see her Sire, she could see the city and it's streets and byways. Her master told her that he was there, waiting to be found.
Zhenya gathered retainers and raced to Milan. Search the city though she did, she never found her Sire. The city was in turmoil, the anarchs were cheering for their new freedom. For a hundred and fifty years she searched the Italian countryside with no benefit. Zhenya had another vision.
This vision was of Germany, and the city of Berlin. She could see the city, could see the conflict happening there. By the time Zhenya and her retainers arrived the Anarchs were routed, and the kindred population was in turmoil. Such has been the pattern of the ages.
Using her magic Zhenya has gotten better at where the next vision will come from, though she has never had success at finding her Sire. Now she is convinced he is coming to San Francisco, or is already there. Due to the situations in the past, she is sure that whatever power and influence her sire has, he is in the area.
