Temporal Scrying
Though it bears multiple names in different languages, this is a single ritual. The caster may observe his subject just as if using the level 4 ritual Scry, except that he may observe the subject at any time in its existence. Scrying into the future is possible, but the caster must have absolute certainty that the subject (person, object or place) will exist - almost certain probability is not enough.
Material requirements: An ornate mirror, and a diagram of the zodiac at the exact time the caster wishes to begin observation.
System: Before casting, the caster must have diagrammed the stars at the exact time he wants to start - a properly tuned astrolabe will work, but a simple drawing will suffice, if accurate enough. The subject may be any place or item with which the caster is familiar, or a person for whom the caster possesses a physical relic or true name.
To cast, the sorcerer places the stellar representation above the mirror, and chants a mantra while waving his hands in an intricate pattern over the mirror's surface. The ritual takes a half hour to cast, and if successful the desired subject comes into focus. The caster may change angles, zoom in or out, or otherwise adjust the view, so long as the subject of the ritual is reflected in the mirror's surface. While the ritual is active, the stellar representation moves in sync with the passage of time reflected in the mirror - even if it is no more than a hand drawing.
Temporal scrying lasts for up to one hour per success rolled, and may be resumed within its duration if the caster shifts his focus elsewhere for a period of time. Since it reaches through time, sentient subjects do not get the feeling of "being watched" that some subjects of normal scrying feel, though subjects with the ability to sense temporal effects (Magi, characters with Temporis), will sense it normally. It is otherwise subject to all limitations and advantages of "normal" scrying.
