Session Recap: 2022-05-28
Day: Saturday (from 17:30 - 23:30)
Players: Morpheus / Auggy
After discussing the possibility of a pickup game with Brie who wasn't up to running, Bruce ran a one night game that concerned the player-character's backgrounds and further repercussions of the Necro-Drug story told by Brie a couple weeks earlier.
The session opened the night after the high-school debacle with Kpop awakening with plans of speaking to the Seneschal Cho. A quick trip to the shower revealed something spooky concerning flickering lights and mysterious messages written on steamy mirrors. This was quickly followed by haywire printers in the server room that kept producing a collage of repetitive requests for help that when pieced together formed an six by ten foot portrait of a dead drug addict from the church massacre.
As horrified realization struck Kpop, he made a b-line for China-Town.
On the other side of the city Liborio and Nanette awoke in the Gangrel's bolthole in a low-rent rooming-house. But on their way down the hall Nanette decides to snack on a passed-out junkie and ends up killing him. Liborio tries to stop the inevitable, but fails and abandons the flophouse when Nanette surrenders completely to the Beast. The ancilla animal quickly disables his feral adopted childe and deposits her bound corpse in a little used warehouse filled with a seemingly endless collection of garden-gnomes. Something about the creepy warehouse seems to pacify Nanette although it doesn't free her from her hunger-frenzy.
Opting to seek help Liborio reaches out to Kpop and the two meet up at the warehouse. From there the two Kindred make their way to Chinatown. They arrive during a colorful Chinese festival and are confronted by the Kuei-jin bodyguard to Cho, an eastern vampire called Goru. The Kin-jin receive a decidedly unwelcome reception and are asked rather pointedly to leave, but not before one of Goru's mortal helpers nudges the western vampires towards Golden Dragon territory and a meeting with the Bone-flower follower Zen.
Zen isn't just a follower of the Bone-flower Dharma, she is also the Kuei-jin Primogen of San Francisco and she sometimes meets with local supernaturals at a little Chinese restaurant near McCoppin Square in the Sunset district called the 8-Immortals. There the intrepid undead duo are introduced to Zen in a bone-garden behind the restaurant. As a favor to Kpop, Zen sheds some light on his sudden haunting and reveals not only the ghost of a young woman, Tina Ó Nualláin, but also why Kpop is being haunted - he was the first individual to touch her corpse and so was somehow bound to the dead girl.
In turn, Liborio asks for some advice on his adopted childe's slow decent into bestiality and how to help her. Again free with her favors Zen reveals that when Kuei-jin escape hell that they pass through a stage of bestiality and that for some serious favors she could help his childe onto a painful road back to humanity or perhaps towards enlightenment. Liborio rejects this offer and the two Cainites leave Zen and the 8-Immortals perhaps better off than they arrived, but with no easy solutions to their problems.
Over the following week, Liborio finds himself a large studio apartment in Hunter's Point and Kpop spends the week searching for a way to communicate with the ghost of Tina ultimately visiting a second hand shop that specializes in items purchased directly from estate sales called Graven Goods. There the Toreador hacker discovers an ancient Apple laptop that allows him to text with the ghost of Tina.
And that is where the session ended.
