Scarecrow
Level 3 Thaumaturgy, based on Spiritual Hermeticism.
As a normal scarecrow guards a field, keeping away scavengers that would otherwise feed on crops, a Scarecrow guards a Shaman, scaring away harmful magic.
System: The caster creates a detailed figurine of himself out of corn silk (some native tribes believe that the gods created mankind from red corn meal) and bodily representatives of himself (bits of blood, hair and skin). After it hardens, the figure is dressed in ritual armor made of twigs and mouse hide. The caster must carry the figure for a full day, then spend a willpower to set the magic.
Once completed, the Scarecrow cancels successes from the first curses to target the caster equal to the number of successes the caster achieved on the ritual.
As it absorbs successes, the armor shows the effects of blows, becoming increasingly tattered. The whole figurine crumbles to useless dust when its successes are used up. This ritual does not interfere with other forms of protection, but recasting Scarecrow will cause any previously existing Scarecrows to crumble to dust.
