Raena Refik
- Paris -P- The Sabbat in Paris -P- [[]]
Sobriquet:
Appearance: Surprisingly, Raena is not the alien-like monster some would believe the Elder Tzimisce to be, even if she as strange features. She is a tall, beautiful lithe woman with raven hair, beautiful features, chalk-white skin and red irises. Her ears are pointed, giving her definitively an elf-like air. She usually wears black velvet robes, enhancing her feminine curves, cut so her left shapely leg is visible when she walks. Her most distinctive trait is that she have four arms instead of two. The extra pair is usually obfuscated behind the folds of her robes, but can easily be used as normal arms, and effectively gives her an extra action.
Her Zulo Form is the exact negative of her human one: Her skin turn to jet black, her hair to pure white, and she soon becomes a spider-like monster, with red eyes terrifying her enemies.
Behavior: Some believe the Sabbat Tzimisce like nothing more to ressemble alien-like creatures, to reach some kind of Transcendance. Raena instead researched to reach the next step in evolution in the mind. As such, she has all and none of the thinking processes of predators and human being alike. Her instincts, coupled with her supernatural intellect, gives her a strange aura indeed.
She is creepy, have a dark humor few Sabbat (or even more humane Vampires) like, and speaks with the voice of someone knowing her very orders will be obeyed. She was the one who devised the path to come to France, and who decided to sacrify the younger Sabbat (whose loyalty to Sabbat was questionned anyway) to hide the coming of the True Holy Avengers, and the others find they likes her less and less, even through they now believe their mission would have perhaps failed if they had acted otherwise..
History: Few things are known about the dark Raena Vykos. Everyone agrees that this is not her true name, and rumours tell she was a Tremere Apprentice of Ceoris, who was kidnapped, her Blood Bond easily broken, and then ghouled by Myca for study of her capacities. He finally Embraced her decades later.
After he joined the Sabbat, Myca Vykos, then renamed Sacha Vykos, made a point to present Goratrix his Childe, and the Tremere Elder never took well the theft of his prized Ghoul, but his position in the sect was tentative enough not to risk everything for vengeance.
While the Sabbat and the Camarilla battled each other, Raena researched her Koldunic Magic powers. Others sneered at the ridiculous research, as the Sect had already sorcerers. But the Tzimisce put it clear they would suffer no interference of Raena's research: They didn't trust the Tremere, and that was enough to explain everything.
Thus, for centuries, Raena remained alone, or follower War Parties intent in destroying Tremere Elder taking the Tremere occult material and artefacts even as the other Sabbat took his Blood. In one daring attempt, she even raided the Lost Chantry of Paris, and diablerized the Childe of France's Councillor, Grimgroth, to the surprise and joy/anger of Goratrix! Identified as Raena Vykos, the Clan Tremere soon declared a worldwide hunt to find her, but the Warlocks were more praticed in magickal research in Camarilla cities than in hunting a Vampire. Even Rituals failed to affect her (which led everyone to believe she never gave her true name to anyone --Perhaps she even doesn't know it herself!).
With the destruction of the Tremere Antitribu in their principal Chantry of Mexico, the Sabbat turned to Tzimisce Kolduns for Magic, and more than a few wondered if the Tzimisce knew it all along, were simply lucky, or just participated in the Antitribu Warlock's destruction...
Anyway, she joined the True Holy Avenger's because of a personnal vision, because the Regent wanted a sorcerer to investigate supernatural meddling, and because of Paris population of Tremere: If the rumours were right, the Prince of Paris didn't like them and weakened them whenever possible. Perhaps, she thought, it was the time for tasting some revenge in the Blood of parisian Tremere...
