World of Darkness -- Pax Romana

Introduction

So five years have passed since our heroic band of young gods returned to the Roman imperial capital
to fix the damage caused by an wayward Titan. Many tales have they of wonders unseen and worlds
unimaginable, but no matter how adventurous these demigods be, even immortals desire stability,
perhaps as much as they desire mortal adoration and sacrifice.

Don't fret, at this point some players think their storyteller is just going to railroad them into some
convenient plotline and deny the PCs a chance to shape their characters lives and ambitions. Perhaps in the
past that was true, but we are are all older and wiser than we were, including your storyteller. So here is
what we are going to do, the storyteller is going to setup the beginning of an interactive online session and
the players will describe their characters desires or goals, there will be a regular back and forth allowing us
to chart your characters last five years together. No dice will be needed, rather we will gauge success in each
endeavor by your character's ratings in attributes, abilities, backgrounds and virtues. Although your character's
lives may not be perfect, each player will be able to advance his or her character in the manner of their own
choosing while still having to deal with the slings and arrows of cruel fate.

Each of the following chapters will center on one of the characters and each chapter will begin with a prologue
describing the character's circumstances and each chapter will be clearly marked for each player-character. There
will be a give and take between a specific player and the storyteller, much like a one-on-one session, but other players
can chime in as long as their character is directly involved, in this way player-characters can conspire to aid each
other and it makes the process more of a group production while still allowing for individual goals and successes.

Alis Tenebris {Dark Wings} ~~ Morpheus

As of October of 9 A.D. Morpheus' had fallen victim to a cursed object called the:
Mishanter Coin while retrieving a group of Roman VIPs from the subterranean
city of the undead Todesstadt.

Directly thereafter returning to Rome, Morpheus discovers that he is now cursed with
a vampiric variant of undeath without having undergone the Embrace and ultimately he comes to understand
that is the coin he won in a Todesstadt house of pleasure that is the source of his malediction.

After consulting an expert in Celtic mythology he realizes the coin is a weaponized
artifact from an earlier era cursed by a fallen druid at the request of a fay princess as revenge against her philandering
demigod husband.

Morpheus' only hope is to return to Todesstadt and find the mortal man who pawned
the cursed coin off on him and convince the Celt called Caiside to reveal how he escaped the cursed coin so that Morpheus
might do likewise.

Does that sound about right Morgan? -- "The Magister 14:40, 28 August 2021 (MDT)"

Felicia Mors {Happy Death} ~~ Lady Mors

When last we saw Lady Mors she had returned to Rome and sought to restore the memories
of all those mortals who sojourned with the demigods in Todesstadt. Regrettably all mortals who drink the waters of the
river Lethe are wiped clean of their previous lives unless they should be given a drink from a sister underworld river
called Mnemosyne. This is the only known way in which mortals, living or dead can have their memories restored.

The rub, as Shakespeare would one day say, is that the river Mnemosyne is hidden deep in the Underworld
and rumored to be guarded by fierce beasts of a cthonic nature and those of the dead who have sought out
it's location without first gaining the approval Hades are never seen again. Seeking to bypass the King of the Underworld,
Lady Mors begins to quietly search the private libraries of Rome for some hint of the river Mnemosyne's closely guarded location
while re-establishing her temple and followers.

Over the next two years Lady Death is quite successful in building a strong following and establishing a formal temple,
but her quest to find any clues to the whereabouts of the Mnemosyne are stymied by a secretive cult called: Qui Sitiunt. "Those Who Thirst"
are a cult dedicated to restoring the memories of their membership's previous lives. The cult's parallel researches greatly complicate Mor's
objective in part because she represents the very force that the Thirsty Ones seek to master. In an attempt to go around the cult Mor's enters
the Underworld and finds herself immediately transported to Acheron, Hades' capital city in the center of his realm.

The Lord of the Dead is most displeased with his adopted daughter Mors for abandoning her duties in overseeing the island
city of Ne'Avalon, an action that has made Hades the object of mirth in Olympus and damages his image as the all powerful ruler of the Underworld. But Mors'
stepmother Persephone comes between them and brokers a truce. On Mors' behalf Persephone calms the enraged Hades and takes Mors' side by pointing out how
many souls she has brought to the King of the Underworld and that he made promises of a magical spear based on Hades' own fork to be delivered upon her
next summons to Acheron. Humbled by his half-dead god-wife, Hades relents and turns over the "Spear of Quietus" forged by a trio of cyclops smiths:
Arges, Brontes and Steropes whose skill shaped the Lightening-bolts of Zeus, Hades own Helm of Invisibility and Neptune's Trident of the Sea. However
Persephone takes her husband's side in pointing out Mors' dereliction of duty.
