Appearance
Climate
Because of the town's northern latitude, daylight varies greatly, from more than 18 hours in midsummer, when it never gets completely dark at night (twilight), to around 6 hours in midwinter.
The temperatures in Oslo are temperate compared to the rest of Norway. Winters are fairly mild and summers can be warm with two out of three days in July that have high temperatures. In winter, three out of every four days remain below freezing, while one out of every four days are so cold that they can kill those who wonder out of doors for any significant time.
