Preliminary Sketch: This ritual harnesses the rank two power of Obtenebration: Nocturne and enchants a stone hold the manifestation of the nocturne until it is needed, at which time it is unleashed by the caster. To cast this ritual the Abyss mystic must sleep an entire day with a piece of clear quartz crystal in his mouth. Upon awakening, the mystic must bath the stone to be enchanted in his blood and holding it cupped in both hands, he must summon the Nocturne in the normal fashion. Once the nocturne is summoned, the mystic must compel the cloud of unearthly darkness into the stone turning completely black like obsidian. Thereafter the stone is ice cold to the touch and those who look into the stone can see the unnatural darkness swirling within. To unleash the supernatural darkness, the mystic need only will the stone to release the darkness.

System: The caster must expend two (2) points of his blood and roll Manipulation + Abyss Mysticism = difficulty of five (5). The caster’s successes can be used as charges, in which case they affect a ten foot radius around the stone or the charges can all be activated all at once, just as if the caster had summoned nocture and unleashing a cloud of supernatural darkness with a radius defined in ten foot increments equal to his successes on the ritual. The stone remains enchanted for the remainder of the night and its power is snuffed by the rising of the sun. The caster can have any number of Night-Stones provided he is willing to spend the blood to summon the Nocturne and the time to enchant the stones (10 minutes per stone). The caster is immune to the effects of his night-stone and with the calculated use of multiple stones activated simultaneously he can cast a very large area into supernatural darkness. However, he must still concentrate on maintaining the clouds of darkness he has created.
