Vampires of Manchester
Vampiric History
Manchester was settled as an outpost of Lincoln during the early 15th century. Baron Stephen sent his childe, Shawlands, to oversee the growing population. When Stephen and the majority of Avalon's Barons rebelled against Mithras later that century, Shawlands sided with his great-grandsire rather than his sire, and earned the title of Baron for himself. Under his leadership, Manchester's Kindred have been a tight-knit community. Outsiders have not been welcome.
Under Shawlands's supervision, Manchester prospered. By the mid 19th century, its economy and population rivaled London herself. With Mithras out of the country, Shawlands maneuvered for greater autonomy and recognition: He invited the Toreador Justicar Violetta Desjardins to Manchester, and gained the official sanction of the Camarilla to use the title Prince. Several other Barons and leaders of other cities who's mortal populations had outstripped their histories followed suit. When the Ancient returned, he remained focused on imagined problems at home and his traditional rivals in Edinburgh to notice the act of rebellion.
