Karl Johansen
Title: Primogen of Clan Tremere
Pet Name: The Gremlin of Sofia
Domain: Lozenets
Description: Karl is often encountered three distinctly different ways. The first is as a disembodied voice which sounds low, gravelly and commanding, much like a stern patriarchal figure, exuding authority and eliciting reflexive obedience. The second is as a translucent figure dressed in eighteenth century finery, in this guise he appears to be an attractive man in his mid-fifties who radiates authority and genteel civility. Finally, in some circumstances he is encountered as a homunculus, essentially a small servitor gargoyle with a caricatured version of Karl’s face; it is this last incarnation that has lost Karl so much status and made him the laughingstock of Sofia’s night society.
Elysium: Sofia Zoo (est.1888)
Personality: Though obviously extremely intelligent, Karl tends to be absentminded. At odd moments he may stop in mid-speech or begin staring at things no one else can see. When encountered in phantasmal form and as a disembodied voice, he has been known to pick up things without touching them physically and to manipulate multiple such items while holding a conversation.
Notes: Karl Johansen has recently worked out a deal with the Toreador Primogen Svetlana Valentin to take up residence in Lozenets, the domain of her old Mentor Sienneo Neroli. Lozenets is located in the southern sector of the city and has a mortal population of about 46,000; the region is undergoing regeneration with areas experiencing intensive new construction. Lozenets is also home to “Tokuda” the largest hospital in Eastern Europe which boasts over 1100 attending physician and 3 specialized clinics. Karl can only rarely be found in Elysium personally, though he can be reached through the current Regent. The Regent Varya Korlov is often found in Elysium and when she is not, she can be found at the Kempinski Hotel Zografski in Lozenets.
Current Events: Karl has announced throughout Elysium, that he will be giving a number of lectures in Elysium on the nature of the other supernatural denizens of the world; the lectures are scheduled to begin in April of 2008 and last through September or October. The lectures are free and open to all the Kindred of Sofia.
