Father Adam
Appearance: Father Adam's appearance has radically changed since his arrival in Sofia in 2002. At that time, he was fairly short (1.7m), bulky in the manner of a laborer or weightlifter (91 kilos) and sported a dishwater blond Mohawk (when he wasn't bleaching or dying it). He bore several familial features to his sister including the green eyes of the descendants of the Celtic peoples. He also sported more than a few tattoos, both amateur and professional.
Tonight, Father Adam stands just over 2 meters tall (6ft-6in) and is thin to the point of emaciation. He appears to have aged in some unusual way, as he now has full head of fine white hair that hangs down his back, a long elegant beard of fine white hair with a twined mustache to match. His face is gaunt revealing prominent cheekbones, an L-shaped nose that seems to stretch out his face and gives his sky blue eyes a look of solemn mourning.
Father Adam generally dresses in a black double-breasted cassock (priestly habit), with a wide cloth belt and soft black shoes. He possesses a few simple pieces of jewelry and an ornate ivory crucifix and a set of ivory prayer beads. On high holy nights, he dresses in an elaborate cassock of violet, blue and dark gold with a matching skullcap.
Background: Father Adam (previously known as Addison Taft) was born into a working class family in London's East End. Like so many children of the East End, he and his older sister - Liza, used to get into a variety of mischief. While still preteen most offenses were either overlooked or minimized as a need for attention; both Taft parents worked difficult jobs with long hours and couldn't spare enough time to properly look after two precocious teens.
By primary school, both Addison and his sister where regular juveniles and spent more time on the streets than in the class room. Addison got mixed up with a local gang and quickly ascended to the dubious position of enforcer, while Liza got addicted to smack and took up hooking to pay for her habit.
Everything changed when Liza met Edward Bainbridge, a older dandy who took a distinct liking to her and acted as her sugar-daddy. When Edward was introduced to Addison, he immediately offered the boy a job as a personal bodyguard. The pay was far better than the money a street level enforcer might earn and Edward took care of Addison, providing him a decent place to stay, nice clothing and a car. It took Addison a year or so to realize what kind of man Edward Bainbridge was and his sister's confessions to realize that he was more than a man.
Another bodyguard Johnny, took to showing Addison what was expected of him and showing him the ropes of using a gun and how to drive Bainbridge's expensive cars safely. He also looked after Liza when Edward would beat her or performed rituals on her. Addison didn't know and wouldn't have cared that Johnny and Liza were sometimes lovers, until Johnny turned up not quite dead and somehow made Liza the same after Bainbridge nearly killed her in some bizarre ritual. Afterwards, all of them decided it was best to leave Edward's chantry and flee London altogether. When the night came, Addison was ready for Johnny and Liza, but was dumbstruck upon being introduced to a Gargoyle named Griphault. The ugly creature had been tortured by Bainbridge as much as any of them and was willing to help them escape. So they all fled the chantry, but just as they were leaving London, Edward caught up to them and Johnny held him off while the three of them boarded a ship for Paris. Unfortunately, during their escape, Addison had most of the blood in his body drained from him by Bainbridge's magic.
Personality:
Current Events: He has become the epitome of a pious vampire, proselytizing whenever he gets the chance. His sermons take a dangerous turn toward the ideals of vampiric supremacy espoused by the Cainite Heresy. He has seemingly given up on the idea that a Dhampyr's blood will make him mortal again. He havens with or near his sister and sire, Liza, in the district of Poduyane.
