Divan
Sobriquet: Divan
Appearance: Divan is a heavy man, with dark beard and hair cropped close. He usually wears earth tones, though at times he wears brighter clothing helping him blend with the holiday crowds in towns.
Behavior: Divan is ruthless, and willing to do most anything to acquire for the Pageant. He comes across as eloquent and somewhat learned, though he what he knows at times is questionable in value or accuracy.
History: Divan was born in Venice as Ralmundo, his family were horse trainers. He was trained by his father in the skills of acquiring other peoples horses to improve the owners herds. Ralmundo found he had a skill at picking up other peoples property besides horses. He was caught and whipped more than once. When Ralmundo decided he would steal the Masters daughters virginity, he never planned to father a child. When discovered Ralmundo ran away or face the Masters servants clubs and knives.
After wandering footloose and hounded for several years, he joined the Pageant. The Masters servants found him and took him away so that revenge could be had. Luckily for Ralmundo no one escapes from the Pageant that easily. The White Faced priests retrieved him, and then helped to change him so he would never be found again. He showed that he could be trusted to acquire that which was needed when trading wouldn't work. He has been a popular member ever since. Many of the older members of the circus owe him favors.
