Warning to Players & Storytellers
Storytellers and players, in the course of trying to envision Jason's firearms research and its lethal results, I have been forced to download firearms concept art from the Internet. The following pictures and their commentary are from the web and there hasn't been an opportunity to consult their authors or creators on the Right of Reproduction. So, as a serious word of warning, please be careful of to whom and how you choose to refer to these pictures and their attendant commentary. These are meant only as a starting point towards describing Jason's extensive catalog of high-tech firearms, both of his own creation and those he might have acquired illicitly. -- Bruce
AOW (Any Other Weapons)
The Bastard
What happens when you put a derringer barrel in the crossguard of a scimitar? Something like this - 9mm caseless ammo removes the need for a complex ejection system, with the spark for firing brought into existence by a squeeze of the trigger. Meant more as a surprise weapon for very close-range engagements, The Bastard doesn't have much range, but it makes up for it by giving the wielder another card to play with someone who thinks they're in a swords only kind of fight.
Pistols
Reaper
Commentary by Author -- Kiolia: Finally got around to coloring this scrap. This is a Reaper, manufactured by Ganrat, from my currently-unused DITF canon.
Basically the most common machine pistol you'd run into; it's chambered in 5mm and uses (or, at least this was my idea at the time of writing) a supply of extremely high-pressure gas to fire each round. So basically it's a pellet gun, except one that fires about 30 rounds/sec at high velocity. This is what you break out when you want to cut someone in half. No external reciprocating parts, though there's a decock/eject button on the side of the body to remove jams or unfired rounds.
Main downside to this gun is that in extended firefights, the decompressing gas makes the gun frost up, and eventually get too cold to handle.
Upsides include light weight, large standard magazine, and built-in wide-field combat holosight (turned off in the picture, but it folds out of that little black bar a little back from the nose of the gun).

Snub Gun
Commentary by Author -- Kiolia: Concept for a short-profile pistol. The clip is offset to the left, the grip to the right, and the slide is actually canted clockwise maybe 30 degrees to load rounds more easily.
I figured by moving the whole slide assembly backwards relative to the grip, recoil would be reduced, and there's an adjustable rest thing that pushes recoil into the shooter's forearm, anyway.

Rifles
Needle Rifle
Commentary by Author -- Kiolia: This would be a bullpup needle gun, PDW-sized but with considerably greater effective range. It fires 4x45mm tungsten ammunition using a fuel-injected mechanism - rather than packaging propellant in casings - at extremely high velocity, and is designed around the idea that most things the user would be firing at would be heavily armored and/or shielded. Two-stage semifrangible ammunition is also available for softer targets. The system can use atmospheric oxygen or an onboard supply, so the BNG can be fired in hard vacuum, underwater, and in most hostile atmospheres without issue. Magazines are available in 50, 75, and 90-round sizes. ROF: adjustable; 900-11,000+ RPM.

Shotguns
Mark V Honey Badger
Commentary: As someone who's 5'2", Jasons' designs tend toward the compact model. Here we see a prime example with the Mark 5 HoneyBadger. It's more of an improvement - given the range of most firefights, the barrel is shortened, necessitating the use of shorter caseless ammo to launch the slug. An LED ammo counter is positioned at the side and directly below the sight, allowing for at-a-glance information. The folding stock allows for the occasional ranged shot, but compacts nicely for storage and carrying. Underneath, a flashlight provides illumination of the target area.
Variants: The Mark VI features a banana clip. The Mark VII "Lead Badger" is reserved for urban renewal operations, as it features a belt-feed mechanism and a 600 round-per-minute fire rate.

Prototype Guns
Commentary: Vera is the current prototype project, with a single express purpose in mind. Firing stakes. Currently, it's a short 12-round clip fed system, with a triple barrel rotation. This allows for a higher fire rate in order to compensate for a relatively slow firing speed. After graduating to production status, it will be renamed Van Helsing.

Commentary: Wolfsbane is the evolution of Van Helsing, with minimal prompting from Frau Ott of Dresden - not firing stakes, but flechette rounds - at a high rate of speed. The idea here is to fire a crapload of silver at an angry lupine, and thereby turn him-her-it into a mass of dead.
