Chez Paris
Founded 2009. A surprisingly successful French restaurant run jointly by the chef and Matre'd, who recieved funding from their silent partner, Yan Sirkov (50% interest). This restaurant features experimental French cuisine, and caters to the needs and whims of NBU's wealthier students, though it draws its weekend clientele from around the city, depending on the whims of fashion. The cozy main room can seat about 30, and three secondary dining rooms can be rented privately or opened to accommodate overflow patronage. An monthly invitation-only poker game held in the back room has become a local tradition. "Anyone who's Anyone," in Ovcha Kupel province, including business owners, politicians, notable and successful citizens have standing invitations. Particularly promising and successful students and professors have been known to find their bets covered as they hobnobbed with those who could provide them with opportunities outside the "Ivory Tower."
In 2017, The restaurant became the premier attraction on the main floor of the new Hotel Zvezdna Svetlina Dvorets hotel, a luxury hotel that overlooks the campus.
