Candle of Ghostly Whispers
Description: The whispers of the realm of the dead have always been able to distract the living. This candle gathers the whispers of the dead and allows them to be heard across the shroud.
Origin: Prici Qadim Malik of the Sabbat
Ingredients: Cerumen and hair from a human corpse; every five corpses can provide one hour worth of cerumen (earwax) for the candle.
Casting: Once the necromancer has acquired enough cerumen to last an hour, he combines it with molten human tallow in a pan. He stirs it for three hours at minimal heat, all the while whispering a invocation to the dead from which he acquired the ingredients. After three hours, the wax has taken on a golden color and the consistency of candle wax. It is then that the necromancer dips a strip of long woven human hair into the wax to produce dipped candle. When the candle has cooled and hardened it is ready for use.
System: Intelligence + Rituals (success are the number of uses) Each use gives an hour where no one who is not within the candle's light can hear the conversation. This includes all magical and technological sources of eavesdropping. Anyone trying to listen will only hear whispers and low voiced speech with no visible source.
Reference: Din of the Damned (level 3 necromancy ritual) - Rituals from White Wolf canon.
Notes: From what I remember and the notes that I have from that time, this ritual is a variant of "Din of the Damned" taught to you by the Sabbat Kiasyd Qadim Malik when you resided with him in 2135 - 2137 C.E. My recommendation is to classify this ritual as a level three of necromancy.
