Bruno to Katara

Dearest Katara,
It seems an urgent matter of family business has arisen and requires my attention. For this reason, I must immediately return to Casablanca without delay; I apologize that I could not tell you this in person, but time was short and the issue quite pressing.
I have spoken to our employers here in the City and though they were not particularly sensitive to my situation, they did come to understand that I must take this leave of absence.
While I have enjoyed our partnership, I did not feel it was necessary or kind to expose you to the shadows of our time in Casablanca. Please do not feel that my hasty departure reflects any ill will on my part and I want you to know that you are a very dear friend.
As my absence may take some months, I realize that it might interfere in our joint endeavor. In that circumstance, perhaps it would be better if you were to attend to matters closer to your own heart, namely the Roma. As I recall from our travels together, Deitrich Kohl mentioned a number of captives that may have been sold into modern slavery.
While I understand that you feel the Roma of Fakulteta are like family, the poor unfortunates and those of the city of Istanbul may need you more. I only mention this because I know you feel lost without your people and perhaps we can both accomplish something for our respective families.
Yours Eternally, Bruno Künnic
