Bogoris Abadjiev
Title: Commissioner of the Central Service for Combating Organized Crime
Nickname: The Little Wolf
Age: 68 years (born: 1945)
Appearance: The 'Little Wolf' is short for a Bulgarian man, with a compact and still athletic build; for a man his age, he is in very good shape and engages in a regular program of calisthenics each morning before breakfast. His white hair is cut short in the military style and he sports a well groomed goatee. At work he can be found dressed in conservative suits, as befits his office and tends to prefer dark colors like black, charcoal and gray. At home he tends to wear casual wear and when outdoors he prefers Khakis. He is tan all year round from the time he spends outdoors, which is as often as possible. Unlike most Bulgarians, he doesn't smoke and has unofficially banned the activity from his offices which appears to be his only eccentricity.
Background: Bogoris is the son of a Bulgarian tailor and a Turkish washer woman; he grew up under the communist system without the benefit of party affiliation. He grew up a member of the Bulgarian middle class; he learned his attention to detail from his father and the ethic of hard work as honest labor from his mother. Bogoris' father was an Orthodox Christian and his mother a Sunni Muslim, which made home life interesting, but has given him a balanced view of religious misunderstanding. As a child growing up in the communist system, he was thoroughly schooled in atheism, but has openly spoken of a preferred ethic of humanism. When he graduated from gymnasium, he pursued service in the Bulgarian Army and was a career major until the collapse of Communism. His retirement from the military led to an administrative position in the then, newly reorganized Central Service for Combating Organized Crime. He was deemed an excellent candidate for commissioner based on his sterling character, military background, unswerving ethics and his familiarity with those who defected from government to become the new criminal elite of Bulgaria. Bogoris has led a two decade long war on organized crime, he has survived several assassination attempts, the upheaval of more than one ministry and the betrayal of more than one of his subordinates; the last three years have seen a several battles won against the criminal czars with the financial support of the European Union and the cooperation of Interpol.
