Sobriquet: Father Andrew

Appearance: Father Rigby appears to be in his late thirties or early forties, in actuality he is nearly fifty, benefits of constant athletic activity and good genetics. Andrew isn't a tall man, he stands just five and a half feet tall, and weights probably one hundred and eighty pounds of mostly muscle. The most noticeable thing about Father Rigby are his eyes, they are dark and searching, full of compassion and insight into other people's failings. Those same eyes can turn hard when he is angry or drunk and he has the force of personality to hold another people's gaze with his own as he crosses from one side of a room to another or when making some particular point during a sermon. The Father dresses as most modern priests do, in dark shoes, pants and shirt with a cleric's white collar - like a raven with a bit of snow around his throat. Most of the time, Andrew walks around with a few days of stubble, its not as if his parishioners are discerning in either their own appearances or manners enough to hold him to some sort of standard. In truth, Father Rigby is an attractive man in a scruffy sort of way with his unshaven face and uncombed hair, Au-naturale as they say.

Behavior: Andrew Rigby is a hard man. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then Father Rigby's soul is like a fortification high on a hill, lonely and distant. Father Andrew isn't the judgemental type, he mostly listens and when pressed gives meager advice, preferring to let the sinners in his flock come to their own conclusions and equally, letting them seek salvation for themselves; ironically, this lack of shepherding has earned Father Rigby a reputation for fairness and trust among the homeless who have little reason to trust anyone. It is perhaps the Father's own vices, mostly women and drink, that make him more human in the eyes of those around him - rather than ministering to his congregation from the pulpit, he moves among them as if he is no better. Most interpret his casual approach to the ministry as humility, but Andrew Rigby isn't particularly humble, nor is he particularly a priest.

History: Andrew Rigby was born Grady Mollown of Boston. He grew up on the streets of "Southie" or Boston's Irish south-side. He grew up in the typical south-Boston Irish family during the 1970s and early 80s. His father was two-bit criminal who was in and out of jail on a regular basis and his mother was only equipped with a high-school education and had to work two jobs to raise Grady and his siblings. Lack of parental attention was the likely cause of Grady's own descent into criminality. By the time graduated high-school, Grady had a lengthy juvenile record and a bad reputation with the cops. It was that same reputation that got him a low-level position in the Winter Hill gang of Boston's Irish mob. Grady took his licks and worked his way up through the gang until he found himself working directly for Whitey Bulger, he done a stint in enforcement, running numbers, rackets, extortion and arms trafficking. Unfortunately for Grady, the DEA, the Boston Police, and the Massachusetts State Police launched a joint tasks-force investigation into his boss' illegal gambling racket and anyone who worked for Whitey was fair game. Grady went on the run and left the country with his boss who took him to Dublin. After a few months Whitey moved on, but Grady found work with the Kinahan Cartel in south Dublin and found use for his expertise in arms trafficking which the Irish mob was only too happy to exploit. Five years passed and Grady had once again worked his way up the ladder to work directly with the likes of Christy Kinahan, and that was when the two rival gangs started the most bloody turf war Ireland had seen and resulting in the formation of another tasks-force, this one Irish and the cartel was forced to shift their operations to Spain. For Grady the next ten years were the best, the Kinahan Cartel moved their operations to the Costa del Sol around Malaga and everything was sunshine and gold. It was during these ten years that Grady became a made-man and even when the Spanish police and Interpol tried to break up the party, the cartel survived together. It wasn't until 2015 that Grady's bad luck caught up with him after he was tasked with eliminating a foot-soldier from a rival gang, and the fallout brought on the Hutch–Kinahan feud. The cartel's leadership arranged for Grady to get out of Spain, but it was Grady himself who struck a deal with the Catholic church for asylum in trade for a number of stolen art works being anonymously returned. The church was good to its word and arranged for Grady to have a new identity and moved him to serve at the Star of the Sea church in San Francisco. In this new life, Grady or rather Father Andrew seeks to atone for a life of evil works, but he doesn't quite have all the right tools to accomplish this on his own.
