Society of Telemachus
The Society of Telemachus is a Satyr-dominated society in the Kingdom of Pacifica.
One of two satyr-dominated societies on the West Coast, the Society of Telemachus, named after the son of Odysseus of Ithica, dominates the cultural life of the commoners in Berkeley and is one part debating society and one part liberal think-tank. Because of its philosophical mindset, it has a rough détente with the Edge of the Labrys, working with the feminist group to further women's issues in local and state politics. As the society is satyr-run, though, there are obvious limits to how far that cooperation can go.
The Society is a product of its place and time and is woven into the the fabric of UC-Berkeley. Chapters have sprung up in UC-Santa Cruz and UC-Santa Clara, even if its main power is still in Berkeley. While Satyrs make up the largest faction, all kithain are welcome. The group is primarily caucasian, though, which leaves certain blind spots in its worldview.
The Society is the child of a Satyr named Honerius.
