Appearance: Mauritanus is an imposing black man, with hard obsidian eyes. His mind is always running calculations, and he has a wonderful smile. He smiles, and very seldom frowns. He will even smile when he kills you.

Behavior: Mauritanus is a consummate showman. His voice is melodious and deep, his words carefully chosen and well spoken. Mauritanus is well educated, and he can carry a conversation on anything contemporary to the pageant.

History: Mauritanus was born in northern Ethiopia in the Aksumite Kingdom around the time of the birth of Christ. He was raised in the royalty of the kingdom. Not one of the royalty, but raised by the cult of the kingdom. Trained to cast magic of a static variety, he has become a master of creating magical items. Mauritanis traveled into Egypt seeking further enlightenment. He found many secrets in Alexandria. Mauritanis spent nearly a hundred years there, using the blood of vampires and other items to extend his life. The uprising in 139 AD led to him being outed as a revolutionary. In great haste he had to flee the city, running from the sorcerer priests of Rome.
Mauritanis wandered north, avoiding the Roman hands. In Crete he encountered the Pageant. Mauritanis was immediately intrigued. He has been traveling with them ever since.
