Appearance: Léonard is a man of medium height and build. While he now wears expensive clothes, the loss of his Prestige deeply hurt his own self-confidence, and while among mortals he appear ruthless, his fear among the Kindred can be felt by sensible characters. Anyway, he has less prestance and style now, and seems to be one of those old gangsters of those old films...
Behavior: He appears cruel and confident. Still, some sign shows his lack of confidence about his own capacities: The way he smokes expensive cigarettes, the fact he drugs his Herd with alcohol before drinking form it, etc..
History: Léonard was a maffiosi lieutenant from Marseille Embraced by Abdslam because the Bourgeois needed someone to take the control of the newly organized underworld that was appearing in Paris.
In the years 1920, it was easy to take control of some of the organizations, but soon, a Brujah from Sicilia took more and more control over them.
And as Léonard was in truth a poor schemer, it was not difficult for Don Caravelli to take back what was his. Still, the Bourgeois were not aware of Léonard's failure. He has some control, and he had some arrangement with Caravelli that enabled him to keep up the appearances while secretly obeying some of the Brujah's orders.
But in the begining of the seventies, things started to go awry: Someone, nothing less than Don Caravelli's Childe, Vanessa, started her own Jyhad to take the control of french maffia.
With the money of Villon and her own scheming, she succeeded in turning some of the Families on her side, the most important being the Family of Don Luigi.
The Clan Ventrue then perceived Léonard's inept abilities when the Maffia attacked some of their own possessions. Léonard was told to correct the problem, and he thought he was lucky when in 1994, Don Caravelli was destroyed by a giovanni at a Camarilla Conclave.
But it only changed the problem. Now the Giovanni tried to take the control of french Maffia, and Dona Vanessa was now using her experience to counter them. Moreover, the Embrace of a Japanese Kine was the sign the Clan Ventrue had lost the trust they had on Léonard: They had turned their attention to the newly arrived Yakuzah clan. in the 13th Arrondissement.
Since then, Léonard is desesperately searching for a way to get back his lost Prestige, and regularily tries to get some hold over the criminal milieu. But the successes never were sufficient enough...
Recent Events:
Notes: Léonard only drinks blood from men and women of italian origin (they must know how to speak italian a little bit at least, or it doesn't count).
Some will call him Don Léonard, but more as a mocking title than by respect: Don Léonard has no real power in the Maffia.
This Ventrue could well start his own Jyhad against Vanessa or the Giovanni, if could find Kindred with guile and physical power enough... Of course, the bourgeois have money enough... <<>>
