Zagreb

Gertrude Himler can trace her lineage through a number of great Ventrue heroes and Warriors, directly to Alexander, one-time ruler of the Grand Court of Paris himself. Alas, the latest of these Ventrue Heroes was her own Sire, Robert von Hotenburg, who died heroically and spectacularly, as he killed the Sabbat Archbishop of Zagreb. Gertrude rallied her sire's forces, and helped the Camarilla finish the rout, but it was primarily for her Sire's reputation and accomplishments rather than her own that she was asked to remain in Zagreb as Ventrue Primogen.

Fortunately, a city needs many things that a Siege does not, and capable children of the modern age are among the latter tally. Gertrude's tendrils extend into transportation, government and media, and those are just the ones she makes sure her peers know of.

Gertrude is tall and slender for a Teutonic woman, and holds herself with a regal bearing that befits her lineage. She is occasionally arrogant, taking an affected air of noblesse oblige to those who do not live up to her standard of breeding, but stops short of offering outright insult. If it is whispered that she lets mercenaries and hired thugs do her fighting for her, well, at least she finds competent mercenaries and hired thugs. In a city still buffeted by regular Sabbat raids, Gertrude and her minions are what stands between the Masquerade and chaos. As such, she is allowed to pursue her ambitions by a prince who could not do without her.

Primogen Himler's relationship is most strained with the Scourge, Tihana Durich, whom she has publicly accused of being a rabid dog that will soon turn and lunge for its master's throat. The Scourge, in turn has several impolite names for the Primogen, and has offered to allow the effete priss to fend for her own territory next time the Sabbat come through.
