Fantastic Five
Creator: Morpheus, Master of Dreams {Oneiroi} - Morpheus appeared as Malcer Tan a human male sorcerer specializing in illusions
Origins: When the demigod Morpheus was critically injured by the Ankou of Dubnolissos, he willingly stepped through the Gate of Polished Ivory and into a dream-realm of his and his brother's making to serve as a distraction from the intense pain of his injuries. During his sojourn Morpheus travels through the dark land of Barovia as one Malcer Tan, a human illusionist, with his demi-human companions. The adventuring party's backstory is that they had just recently investigated an unexplored part of Myth Drannor and were hunted by a scouting party of Zentarim into the nearby mountains as both groups are caught up in a terrible storm. The storm deposits the Fantastic Five near the gates of Barovia and the fearless adventures are soon caught up in the struggles of the Village of Barovia against a zombie plague. As a result of the dreams twists and turns, Morpheus donates some of his willpower to the phantasms, namely" Baern, Sariel and Anastrianna, giving them free-will. The dream comes to a close with Morpheus leaving his companions at the Blood on the Vine tavern and his escape from the demiplane through the Gate of Transparent Horn that lay under Ravenloft Castle. Once more awake, Morpheus sends word to his friends in the Fantastic Five through dreams to flee Barovia.

Currently: Escape from Barovia: The Fantastic Five, or four in this case, fled the village of Barovia riding hard to escape the wrath of Strahd. But with the setting of the sun, the band of heroes found the border of Barovia closed and unable to pass the misty border they rode south through the night and into the next day before coming to the shores of a nameless lake. There they rested their horses for a few hours during midday and then continued their ride south. Towards twilight they came upon a road and followed it into the village of Immol. The village was much larger than that of Barovia and there they have taken rooms at an inn called The Bolting Stag. Now the four survivors wait with hopes that the misty border will open sometime soon and allow them to follow the Warlock's Road to Toyalis in Hazlan.
