Dimming Memory's Passage
Level 3 Thaumaturgy, based on Hermetic principles.
This ritual causes psychic emanations and emotional residue to fade much more quickly than they would normally. Thus it can effectively hide ownership, or the history of an item, or even allow the memory of terrible events that took place in a location to fade.
System: The caster draws a 10 foot diameter hermetic circle, using runes of forgetfulness and calm. An accompanying chant speaks of routine, and blasé attitudes. When complete (after 1 hour), each success on the ritual roll strips 1 success from each attempt to use any form of psychometry on anything within the circle. The casting itself is similarly affected. The diameter of the circle can be widened by 10 foot increments, each addition increases the difficulty of the ritual by 1. Note that this ritual does not affect any emotional or psychic residue that affected objects accumulate after the casting.
