History: Born in the summer of 1971, Catherine was the shining light to both Susan and Tremen Hall. Mommy stayed home and raised her, and until the age of 9 Catherine had a perfect, idyllic childhood. When Susan died in early December in a car crash, Catherines world came apart. Daddy tried hard to take care of her and hold it together, but she began to see him having visions from the horrors of Vietnam. Then in April Daddy brought home Juanna Rodriguez to show her how he made his chicken parmigiana. Catherine, hungry for a woman to talk to, found a kind, empathetic person in Juanna. By Halloween Juanna was living with them full time, and before Christmas Tremen married Jaunna.
Catherine became fast friends with her fathers new bride, relying on her as Catherine's father became more distant. Wanting to be faithful to her father, Catherine was trapped in her need to have a steady light in her world as daddy struggled to be normal. When Juanna decided she couldn't stay married to Tremen, they both sat down with Catherine and reassured her that even though they were separating, Juanna was still going to help care for her. When Tremen was charged with murder and cannibalism, Catherine moved in with Juanna. Daddy insisted that he wanted Catherine to stay in Denver rather than have her sent to Chicago.
When daddy died in the fire at the prison, Catherine closed in on herself, almost becoming catatonic. Juanna pulled her out of school for a semester, taking her to spend some quiet time in the desert with Juanna's family on the sheep ranch. Catherine found her center in that three months, coming to terms with her grief. When Catherine and her step-mom returned to Denver, Catherine was determined to put her past behind her. Juanna put her back in school, and then allowed the girl to push herself academically.
Catherine, being nothing less than brilliant, soared. Catherine found speech and debate team, realizing how much she liked to debate things. After winning numerous awards for debate team, Catherine decided she wanted to attend University of Colorado for law. After seven tough years she graduated at the top of her class. Wanting to follow in her step-moms law enforcement foot steps, Catherine became an assistant DA. In 2002 she became the full DA for the state of Colorado.

Currently: Kate is 32 years old and in fantastic shape, but her work steals the lion's share of her life and there has been no time for relationships let alone marriage.
