Background

The Blue Jackal opened its doors during the height of the Vietnam War. Since then the business has changed owner a dozen times. The reasons varied, but the rent on the place went up continously while the profit margins always remained slim.

The current proprietor Hai Lee is a thoroughly unlikable fellow who still somehow manages to turn a small profit.

The Blue Jackal is open twenty-four hours a day providing dry cleaning services, but there is no delivery, only drop-off and pickup. This dry cleaning establishment charges about thirty percent more than the local competition which is located six blocks away. Despite the owners sour disposition and the higher prices the Blue Jackal's staff are both dependable and skilled. Despite this most repeat business is either local or desperate.

Description

The business is located at ground level and facing the street. The Blue Jackal is situated in the middle of the block, but it's entrance is mostly obscured by the street-side parking and the homeless who are camping out on the sidewalk under the trees that line the street. The only giveaway is the bright blue awning over the door to the cleaners. The main door is flanked by two small windows crisscrossed with steel-bars. The main door is a steel security door painted bright blue with the business name and logo stenciled on in bold black Chinese font.

Location

The Blue Jackal Dry Cleaners are located on the south-west corner of O'Farrell and Leavenworth streets abutting the Alhambra Apartments.
