Blood Efficiency

Celerity 6

Description - At the high levels of Celerity even elders have a hard time keeping up the blood expenditure. An elder can choose to focus using this power. Makes it harder to pretend to be less skilled but increases the amount of time an elder can use their Celerity.

System - A kindred with this power can spend 2 blood points for 5 actions in a round. This will not activate any actions above 5, those are subject to normal activation, as a one to one expenditure. Kindred must still spend at the beginning of the round and they will get all 5 actions that round. They can not choose to have less, although they need not use them all.

  • Kaitlin: personally I would use "retain the quickened blood" which is a written Assamite lvl 6. What it allows you to do is steadily gain back the blood used on celerity. This is almost like two level 6 powers. One is that allows you to use celerity on the same round, and the other than makes it cheaper. Sense it is from two different systems, it's hard to say where the middle ground is. ~Kaitlin
  • Jamie: Actually, Retain the Quickened Blood is included both in the old Libellus Sanguinos series, and in the new Low Clans book. In both, it is a 3/3 Celerity/Quietus power. Dark Ages (the rules we're using) celerity takes effect the round you use it anyway, so that's not an "extra" power. What gets me is that this power more than doubles the efficiency of celerity: from 1 blood for 1 action to 1 blood for 2.5 actions. Is that really balanced for a level 6? I know, I shouldn't complain: I waited years to get any kind of celerity, but Clotho's Gift is better in most respects than Celerity.
  • Brian: Um wow, put a level 6 fortitude and get nothing till I buy it. Put up Celerity and BAM.... Anyways, my thought process, by definition this person with this power could have 6 celerity actions a round. So if they used this power and paid for their 6th action(5 actions + 1 action) as well it would be 3 bp(2 bp for this + 1 for 6th action) for 6 actions or a 50% efficiency. I want to stay away from any weird math and make it very simple. That being said, I am the only one who will be buying this anytime soon so I will tinker with the power as needed.
