Appolonia is a very cynical, devious woman. Nobody really exists but her, and nothing really matters except how the crowd reacts to her performance. It's not that she is shallow, it's that she is so narcissistic that she sees no point in helping anyone else. She has a very high sex drive, and likes to have her pick of the young men who come to her show. Lonia wants the pick of all the men, in the Pageant and in the towns. She has even been sleeping with her son, just to prove that the old girl has got it. This isn't going over well with her husband who has noticed. He might fuss more if he weren't schtupping their daughter.
History
Appalonia was the daughter of a rich man in Greece. As a woman she was forbidden to perform, which drove her to dance and perform anyway. She insisted on the best of everything from her Daddy. When he curtailed her snooty behavior she convinced a thug to beat him. The beating went too far and her father died. Appalonia was implicated, and she ran. In Carthage she met Bessarion, and the two fell immediately into love (lust). When the couple began to age, Appalonia began to study the dark arts, searching for a solution. She found a way to make an infernal pact with Amun-amneith to preserve their youth. The demon was all too happy to make the pact. It wasn't until the two joined the Pageant that the demon rued the deal. He has spent nearly a thousand years waiting for them to croak so he can collect. Only now he worries that he will have to wrestle Apophis for their souls.
