William Wolfsblood
[[]]
After a millennium a slave, he is finally free.
Once known as "William Dunlop," William spent nearly a thousand years blood bound to his brutal, stupid father and sire. He was the black sheep of the family, terrorized by his bullying elder brother Arthur, and horrified by the wanton cruelty of Richard, the youngest. Though he tried repeatedly to escape, he was always tracked down and beaten brutally for his disobedience. His frequent attempts to mitigate the wanton damage done by his family were punished in the same manner. For centuries, William's only solace was in the simple company of beasts - those he could save from destruction as cannon-fodder in his father's frequent vendettas or sacrifices on Richard's demonic altars.
Compelled by dominate and the blood bond to help his father fight, William threw himself at the back of yet another victim. As Brian O'Reilly turned and presented his vicious sword to meet William's leap, his final thoughts were of gratitude and regret - gratitude that it was over, and regret that he would never have the opportunity to atone for his myriad sins.
