History

Exeter, and its successor, Plymouth, have never been very important or populous region, remaining one of the most important centers of agriculture in England. In the 11th century, the Toreador Hugh was rewarded for siding with Mithras against the memory of his sire, Liseult de Taine, with the Barony. Though he took the proper oaths and swore to Mithras as a Baron of Avalon, Hugh remained much more closely associated with the Courts of Love than with Avalon. He died during the Baron's Revolt, though it is unclear who killed him, or if he even intended to test his power against Mithras.

After several decades of uncertainty and political maneuvering, Hugh's Seneschal, the Malkavian Peter de Kennet defeated his rivals and knelt to Mithras as Baron. Since then, Exeter has largely faded from the British psyche, mortal and immortal alike. It is only in the last decade, as agricultural interests heavily influenced the outcome of the civil war, that Baron Bancroft has caught the attention of the great and would-be great in the Isles.
