Order De La Pierre Ebon
History
The Order of the Ebon Stone comes from a group of heretical sorcerers who claim to have roots in the Knights Templar. The Order works on the supposition that using alchemy they can create a copy of the Lapsit Exellis, or "Philosophers Stone." The group has a black stone cup that they currently use for some of their more esoteric magic. It is a source of magic energy, helping to fuel much of their thaumaturgy. It has a dark effect on those who interact with it, seeming to leave them more callous than before.
Organization
The Order de la Pierre Ebon has a strong hierarchical organization, with a High Master, House Lord, House Chamberlain, and House Guardian as the top major positions. The roughly forty members that are not officers come for learning and revelations. The officers teach "magic" to the common Acolytes.
Officers are all of higher social strata.
Style
They use several methods of the magic they profess. The majority of their magic is dark and in some cases laced with infernal roots. There is a darkness in what they do, but they try to keep an independent stance.
Common Paths
They profess a working knowledge of alchemy, divination, fascination, summoning/binding/warding.
