Hiltrude Ott

Sobriquet: Sicherheitschef (Zihker-het-chef) = Chief of Security (third childe of the Countess)
Appearance: Dresden's sicherheitschef is of average height for a woman, standing 1.67 meters tall and weights no more than 59 kilograms. However, there is nothing else that could be considered remotely average about Frau Ott. While distinctly feminine, Hiltrude has the body of an Olympic gymnast, possessing eyes of arctic blue and white-blond hair; as such she embodies all of Adolf Hitler's Aryan ideals. Likewise, she has a cream complexion and the solid bone-structure of a Bavarian milk-maid. Frau Ott almost never wears jewelry, though her earlobes are obviously pierced for earrings, nor does she wear perfume considering it to be frivolous and unprofessional. Her public mode of dress is conservative, dark, women's apparel of the latest business cut; while wearing such, she also dons ladies eyeglasses as she finds that mortals and naive Kindred assume she has less than perfect vision and thus they underestimate her. In private, at work about Dresden Castle or other security installations, she wears a form-fitting ballistic-cloth body-suit for its utility and the convenience of being able to slide into body-armor in record time; her uniform is usually complimented by the best tech-glasses or wraparound-ballistic sunglasses. Like all the Zelenka (True) Brujah, she has no use for chronometers as they are all utterly...imprecise.
Background: Most mortals and many Kindred assume Frau Ott of being a Lebensborn baby or at least of that same genetic stock, however, this is far from the truth. Hiltrude was born in Dresden at the end of WWI. Her mother's husband, a clock-maker of Dresden, was conscripted by the German Imperial Army at the outset of the First World War and her mother was the daughter of a leading local Jeweler and of course, a Jew. Who her actual, biological father was, is anyone's guess as her mother took that secret with her to the grave.
Hiltrude mother was a late suffer and casualty of the 1918 influenza pandemic, but her father the clock-maker raised her without rancor or spite for the illegitimate child of his wife's extramarital indiscretions. Hiltrude went everywhere with her father and learned the clock-maker's trade as a part of growing up in her father's house. By the time she was twelve, Hiltrude could take a pocket-watch apart and put it back together from memory. But, without a mother-figure in her life, she became something of a tomboy. The clock-maker, a stoic man who found it difficult to show his emotions, paid dearly to ensure that she received a boy's education in an age where women only received a rudimentary education before being married off.
Thus, Hiltrude grew up during the Great Depression between the World Wars. Life was not easy for the clock-maker and his daughter, but a skilled artisan can make money no matter how bad the economy and neither the man or his daughter went without the necessities. In what seemed little time, Hiltrude was a beautiful young woman and with an education and better options than most other women her age. In 1935, at her father's urging she took a post in the Wehrmacht (German military under Hitler), initially as a secretary to a junior officer. Though treated as an inferior, Hiltrude quickly elevated herself in the eyes of the Wehrmacht via her professionalism, and the perfectionism which she applied to all her assignments. At the time, Hiltrude made no attempt to use her beauty for advancement, but despite her protests later, it did play a part in her rise through the military in part at least to the desirability of having a true Aryan woman as a trophy wife.
Eventually, she was raised to the position of Stabshelferin (staff auxiliary) officer within the Abwehr or the German military intelligence organization. Shortly after her promotion and transfer to military intelligence, Hiltrude specialized in encryption and worked directly with the code machines including the Enigma machine before the Allies broke the Enigma code. Unfortunately, her military career came to an abrupt end in 1944 due to the "Frau Solf Tea Party", a anti-Nazi intellectual group that was finally purged by the S.S. and resulted in the dissolution of the Abwehr. A number of Abwehr officers were cashiered, some transferred to the S.S. and a few fled or were executed; unfortunately for Hiltrude, her superior at the time was involved in anti-Nazi espionage and under torture implicated her. Thus she fled Berlin and returned to her home in Dresden, or rather, what was left of it after the allied fire-bombings.
