History: Frederic de Lagny was born in 1860, in a rich familiy, in the middle of a period of peace: Napoleon III is Emperor, and nothing let the french worry about the the disastrous war with Prussia, in 1870.

The De Lagny are are rich. Near the power before the revolution of 1789, this Bourgeois family succeeded so much in turning their coats without attracting attention about this fact that they survived this troubled period of the history of France.

In 1817, Hubert Lagny buies the de that changes the family status from rich bourgeois bankers to powerful nobility.

But when Gregory de Lagny arrives at the head of the family, things start to go wrong: Like a lot of heirs from this new noblesse, Gregory only knows excesses and luxury. His (arranged) wedding with Adele de Drincy-le-Val is a failure. The birth of Children only amplify the disaster. Frederic is born, then, the last of a family of wealth and power, but already in the path of decline.

Overprotected by a mother who reported all her love to him, the young boy grows in a horrible environnement: his mother is beaten by his father. Worst, the man turns his attentions to his sisters. Frederic is only protected because his status as a male. He will developp a great hatred against people showing the psychological traits of his father.

Hurt by the suicide of his edler sister (he was 10), he will spend most his time in books, with a particular interest in those where the heros use fantastic powers to put the wrong things right. Furthermore, his desire to be pure and innocent once more, leads him to become a clean maniac, to the sadness of his mother, terrefied to see her son fall in what she believe to be madness, for which she believes to be responsible.

He reaches, then, his 21th year. His majority, the 6 april 1881. He will inherit from his father. Hsi sister is married. His mother, affliged with tuberculosis, lives in the oriental Pyrénées. Nothing more is in his way to revenge against his father. He will use a very particular way, through...
