Dutch
- New Orleans -NOLA- Camarilla -NOLA- Brujah
Sobriquet: Dutch is his nickname.
Appearance: Dutch still carries the bulky, muscular frame of his mortal days. He is 5'10", with long brown hair, brown eyes and a cleanly shaven face. He dresses in faded, torn blue jeans and a jacket sans shirt.
Behavior: Dutch is not the typical Brujah. Being and Idealist, he does not really feel that what he plans could be termed "revolution", merely taking back your clan's own (Carthage) from the clan that took it in the first place. Thus he speaks calmly and concisely and rationally, and does not act without planning.
History: Dutch arrived in New Orleans in 1951, then Prince Doran welcomed him with open arms. Dutch was and idealist Brujah from California who had immigrated to New Orleans in search of the second coming of Carthage. Here, he hoped, he could ally with the Ventrue leader to create such a city.
Dutch found that things weren't as he was told. His clan who visited or live in his new home had little interest in such big plans and ideals. In fact, their interests more often than not conflicted with Doran's. The then primogen of the Brujah in Dutch's eyes was nothing more than an uppity rabble-rouser more interested in inciting visitors than doing anything remotely constructive.
Dutch pretty early on in his coming to the city confronted the clan leader and the new Brujah in town proved to be a Cainite of will and might and the Brujah that didn't step to his side of the line either left town or were destroyed.
The clan finally moving in the direction of Dutch's liking the new Primogen turned his attention to other important matters. As he became more familiar with the city the more a different picture of this "new Carthage" emerged - a picture of a city create for the benefit of the Ventrue and the Tremere.
Before he could truly address these findings an assassin slew Prince Doran. Spotting his chance to make the city the New Carthage he wanted it to be he became a contender for the throne. His support among members of his own clan immediately began to slip, and he realized that other Kindred had aligned themselves before the assassination ever occurred. Finding himself forced to choose between clan leadership or the prince-ship, a position he might never achieve, Dutch repealed his claim to the throne.
Today Dutch is still clan leader, but he is more interested in Marcel's plans for the city. Dutch has lost any hope that the city might become a new Carthage. He dreads the day when the elders cease offering hospitality to any Kindred who comes in peace.
While Dutch can do little now, he has begun to bolster his position. He has started casting about for other Brujah who feel as he does. He hopes to make the Brujah presence strong while members of the clan are still allowed into the city. If Dutch succeeds, he may eventually renew his quest to create a utopia.
